Environmentally Great Foam Crown Molding

Wednesday, November 16, 2011
In the past years, wood was used to create crown molding for both home interior and exterior. The heavy use of wood has made many homeowners and builders to reconsider their options and replace wood products with more environmentally-conscious polyurethane products for many of building features, including crown molding, siding, window panels, and many more. If you are interested in adding the appeal of your home interior or exterior, without sacrificing any more wood, you might be interested in using foam crown molding that is manufactured using smooth foam, or high-density polystyrene.

Foam crown molding is made in the factory, so there is strict quality control and products are guaranteed to have good precision and quality for exterior or interior use. Another advantage of crown molding is its easy installation and availability. You can browse around for online foam crown molding website and see if you can buy your foam crown molding online. In general, foam crown molding is designed and manufactured to resemble real wood, such as alder, red oak, solid pine, to poplar and primed finger joint pine, to name a few.

With the variety of foam crown moldings on the market, you can easily choose the one(s) that suit your personal preference and architectural design. Find a web store that offers a wide selection of foam crown moldings, compare prices, and get your foam crown molding from a trusted retailer/ manufacturer, at best possible price, and improve the look and style of your home without sacrificing the environment!

Foam is a great material for DIY installation in particular, as it's much more forgiving than solid materials. For somebody who isn't as confident with tools or more expensive materials like wood, it's easy to slightly over-cut foam crown molding and compress it into place - something that wouldn't work with an inflexible material.
